ROB MEYER - R2D2 Builder/Operator (SE)
Star Wars came out in '77 and was an instant fan. His first project was building a Darth Vader mask. Since nothing was available commercially, he made do with what he had access to... he made a mask out of 8-track casette cases.
Rob's highschool years were filled with set building, lighting, sound and some lead parts as an actor. During his second year of college he dropped out, amid many distractions some of which included following local film productions and getting background and stand-in work for movies such as Revenge of the Nerds and Thunder Alley. After a short time in the
military Jim returned to Tucson where he continued to explore film making and special effects.
Today, he has the wonderful opportunity of working with the Tucson Children's Museum on several exhibits, the largest of which is the 3000 square foot life-sized robotic dinosaur exhibit which he designed, constructed, and has been maintaining for 5 years. Jim and the handful of his friends, co-workers and volunteers that is called Rob Meyer Productions find themselves busy each year with two other charity events, the fire department's halloween haunted house, and the IAFF Firefighter's Union's annual Chili Cookoff, where a big part of the effort goes into building elaborately themed booths and costumes. This year the theme is Star Wars! Go figure!

JIM WATTS - R2D2 Effects Assistant (SE)
Jim is the Chief Model Maker, Prop Builder, and jack-of-all-trades for Rob Meyer Productions.
Anytime theres a need for something to move, work, light up, or make noise, Jim is on the task.
For many of the dinosaurs that Rob Meyer Productions has made, Jim was the one to sculpt the
molds for the skins and then paint them up to complete the illusion.
