5/10/2006 - SOTF Contributor 'Ethington' Closes After 56 Years of Theatrical Excellence
Grand Canyon University's Ethington Theatre Department was officially closed today when the "higher-ups" deemed the program a necessary loss as the school has struggled financially for the past several years. Instructors were given severance packages and the theater will now be used as a possible lecture hall.

GCU's theatre department was a major contributor to the 'Spirits of the Force' sequels. It donated many costumes (created by Nola Yergen-Jennings), set pieces, and lighting gels.

Several actors and crewmembers developed their craft at Ethington. Actors Joel Cranson (Kyle Katarn), Brenda Glenn (Jan Ors), Elizabeth Grasham (Celeese), and Justin Whittenton (Jonos Belot) all studied at Ethington.

Thank you Ethington Theatre for your 56 years of Excellence! May the Force be with You… Always!
